Maroela Camp opened in September 2011. It was originally a hide but was seldom used as such. Because of its beautiful site, the decision was taken to convert it to a permanent camp. It is situated at the opening to a kloof with rocky hillsides covered with large trees on both sides. It is in an open glade and draws its name from the large Maroela tree under which it nestles. A well frequented water hole is about 40 metres away.
