Maroela

Maroela Camp opened in September 2011. It was originally a hide but was seldom used as such. Because of its beautiful site, the decision was taken to convert it to a permanent camp. It is situated at the opening to a kloof with rocky hillsides covered with large trees on both sides. It is in an open glade and draws its name from the large Maroela tree under which it nestles. A well frequented water hole is about 40 metres away.

It offers

  • a bedroom downstairs (twin beds or king size)
  • a small bedroom upstairs – formerly the hide (twin beds or king size) with a toilet and hand basin
  • downstairs shower, toilet and hand basin
  • open plan living room, dining room and kitchen
  • electric fridge, gas four plate stove and oven, fans throughout
  • Eskom electricity adequate for lighting, fans, fridge and charging cell phones and computers. Not adequate for any heating such as kettle, toaster or hair drier
