| Motseng, meaning ‘At the
Village’ is the most recent addition to the Lindani stable
having opened on 9th May 2008. As with the other lodges, it will
take single party bookings only.
It is different from the other lodges in that it has the
flexibility to be suitable for both large and smaller groups.
The core of Motseng is the Main House (6 beds) together with the
Games Room
(4 beds) immediately alongside it. In addition there are two
completely separate and fully equipped cottages to handle any
overflow from the Main House. This means that, where there is a
large group, guests can have their own space in their unit as
well as being able to eat and socialize together with everyone
in the party at the Main House, the Games Room the swimming pool
and the outdoor lapa when they wish to do so.
It is ideal for ‘three-generation’ family get-togethers,
friendship groups comprising a number of different families or
other friendship groups such as church groups, cycling clubs
etc.
It is child friendly and has been designed as a place for
families with children to have fun and quality time together.
The large swimming pool, the games room, the open spaces in
front of the main buildings, the cycle and walking trails and
the child friendly Melkrivier all combine to offer plenty to
exhaust the kids.
Midweek it will be possible to book the Main House and the Games
Room without the other units having to be opened at the same
time so that smaller groups will not feel the lodge is too large
for them.
Motseng faces north east, is situated against a mountain looking
across a wide open field with a large waterhole where game often
comes to drink in the evening. Across the field is the
Melkrivier. The lodge is close to a rewarding cycling trail as
well as two marked walking trails.
The four separate buildings that make up Motseng are all
conversions and restorations of old farm buildings that were in
existence when we bought the farm. By converting existing
buildings, we have created a new family lodge in early
‘Transvaal Farmhouse’ style without increasing the footprint.
We have tried to make the total complex both parent and child
friendly with space for the kids but in sight of parents. We
have one wheel chair friendly bedroom in the Main House. In
addition the Games Room, the swimming pool (by means of a ramp
into the pool) and the outside braai lapa are accessible to
wheel chairs. |
