Many guests use Lindani for special
occasions such as family reunions, landmark birthdays and wedding anniversaries by booking some or all of the lodges and inviting a large number of family and friends to join them for the weekend – those invited are often expected to pay for themselves. In most cases the celebration is held at one of our bigger lodges such as Motseng or Maswikeng on the Saturday night followed by a brunch on the Sunday morning.
Without exception these have been truly ‘special occasions’ enjoyed by the host and guests alike. Over and above the enjoyment of the actual celebration, family members and guests are able to socialize over a whole weekend and also enjoy what Lindani has to offer.
Lindani is able to provide crockery, cutlery, tables and chairs for up to 70 guests. We charge a rental only for whatever has to be brought into the lodge in terms of crockery etc. and not for what is already in the lodge. Rental charges can be obtained from the office.
Lindani is able to provide the necessary servicing support and can also cater for smaller get togethers. (See Tariffs for charges). For larger functions, Lindani has a working relationship with an excellent professional caterer, ‘Bush Stop Café’, in Vaalwater. Their services can be hired independently of Lindani.
The farm employees, led by Solly Nkhumane, Section Manager at Maswikeng, have established their own music group, ‘Solly and the Village Singers’. They can be hired to sing at any special occasion. They have recently cut their first disc, “Woza Moya” which is available through the office for R80 for those who would like to hear them singing before committing to hiring them.
It should be noted that Lindani does not offer a fully fledged wedding service - if guests want to use Lindani’s facilities for a wedding as a special occasion on the basis outlined above, they are welcome to do so. Some very successful weddings have taken place at Lindani on this basis – with the ceremony taking place under a ficus or maroela tree. We are however not geared to provide all the extras that are offered by professional wedding venues. |
